In the heart of Waitomo, this spectacular 100metre abseil and dry caving adventure is not for the faint-hearted. Through eerie mists, you’ll descend, free hanging, into a seemingly bottomless void. From the cave floor, take in the pre-historic oligocene setting as you explore massive vaults, glowworms, gigantic flowstone formations and caverns.
Hear the roar of the Mangapu river echoing through the caverns. Traverse ledges covered with spagatites (strange green plants growing out the walls) and continue on to the ‘Spider Hole,’ where you'll emerge into a jungle, reminiscent of Burma.
The feeling of personal accomplishment when you arrive on the surface is overwhelming and believe us - you’ll want to do it all over again!
